Good music doesn’t come to Charleston very much. But HEALTH doing a speed run of shows between Sonic Temple and Welcome To Rockville, it made perfect sense. Filming their show is super killer and I think the footage was really good.

LP making a stop in my State means I have to go. I met up with my good friend Mark for the show and it’s always great to catch up with him. Audio and video turned out pretty good for this one too.

Neon Bible is one of the top albums of mine. Arcade Fire have been on my list of bands to see live, but for whatever reason. It never happened, until now. Would never expect them to play Charleston, which it was their first time here. A very well balanced set of new and old.

One of my top 5 favorite bands of all time decide to come out of retirement and do shows for the 20th anniversary of “Crimes.” Not only did I get to record a show for the band, I got to see 4 shows in 4 days. It was unbelievable!

HEALTH opened the day at Petco Park for Deftones’ Dia De Los Deftones. The sound at the main stage was incredible.

Probably my favorite recording I did of 2024. Air performing Moon Safari at the Orpheum from the front row of the balcony. Can’t get any better.

Johnny Marr and James co-headline tour was not to be missed. The Smiths are at the top of bands I would love to see reunite, but that will happen when hell freezes over. But to hear Marr shred on the guitar to some of the classics (and Electronic songs) I will never not go see him live.

I have been waiting years to see James. My dad played their ‘ Best Of’ album almost regularly and always enjoyed it. Some 30 odd years later, I finally got to see them at the Orpheum. Which may now be my favorite concert venue I have ever been to. Just a fantastic venue all around. This was a coheadlining tour with Johnny Marr. So I was very excited to be able to catch this and step away from dad duty.

One of the first shows I saw while coming out to Southern California. Observatory OC is a fantastic venue and The Hives melted the place down.

This is what I call the NIN Live HQ. Where I get to enjoy my music collection and transfer/preserve any sort of audio/video media that people send to me!

The godfathers of electronic music. My first time seeing them since 2016 and it was a fantastic show.

I had the privilege of filming HEALTH’s show in Detroit a few weeks back. We were able to get in for soundcheck and set all of our cameras up and get a soundboard patch. The footage came out EXCELLENT. I have sent the mix to the band and hopefully they will do something with it. In the meantime, here is their cover of Deftones “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” from the show!

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with FUZZMONSTER and archiving his master DAT collection. They have recorded over 1,000 different concerts ranging from 1993 to the present.

Missed their shows in Atlanta, Detroit and Charleston but made up for it big time in Cleveland. A dead center, front row balcony ticket to an unobstructed view and a very polite crowd around me. Sound was fantastic and I waited until I saw this band live to see/hear any of this material and not on their live releases. Epic stuff. Also real stoked how well the audio and video turned out!

I’ve been waiting 23 years to see Underworld live. They haven’t been to Detroit since 1999. Insane when you think about how Detroit is the capitol for Techno. A great way to close out Movement Festival with them playing the main stage. As always, the sound was impeccable and visuals were stunning.

Last time I saw Cold was my first show since the Pandemic at this very venue. This is one of Adam’s favorite bands, so I made sure I was going. Had a great time at the meet and greet before the show.

During the pandemic I pulled out all of my master recordings and did full digital transfers of everything. This was one of them. Back when Death Cab allowed open taping and right as Transatlanticism was being released and they would blow up. Death Cab was opening for Ben Kweller at this time. So crazy to think nowadays… I took my brother’s Hi8 cam to film the show and my cassette recording rig. Simpler times and although the recordings are shitty, it brings back a lot of good memories.
